Jamie Gibbs

Wrestling Coach

Jamie Gibbs enters his 13th season as the head coach wrestling coach at Baldwin Wallace University in 2023-24. He was the first full-time wrestling coach in program history, replacing BW Alumni Athletics Hall of Famer Rich Fleming after 23 seasons. They have been ranked nationally in the top-10 the last six seasons. Gibbs has led the team to seven OAC Championships, including four straight from 2015-2019. He also has received the Ohio Athletic Coach of the Year Award, including four consecutive times from 2015-2019.

Prior to coming to BW, Gibbs was the University of North Carolina-Pembrooke Head Coach for five seasons. He also spent time as an Assistant Coach at Coe (Iowa) College and Graduate Assistant for University of Wisconsin-La Crosse

Throughout his personal collegiate career, Gibbs was an All-Iowa conference selection and a two-year starter and team captain at Coe. He was a National Qualifier and a National Wrestling Caches Association Scholar All-American at Iowa Central Community College.

Gibbs earned his associate degree from Iowa Central Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Coe. He also obtained his Master of Science degree in exercise sports science from the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse. He currently resides in North Ridgeville with his wife, Jana, and their two sons Bodey and Kaden.
