Kyle Mars

Volleyball Coach

Kyle Mars was named the first head men’s volleyball coach in program history at Baldwin Wallace University on September 23, 2019, and enters his third season in 2023.

His goal is to create a foundation to become a nationally competitive program; and to help develop high functioning, skillful, and disciplined student-athletes in Division III men’s volleyball. The overall mission for the student-athletes is to help them realize their potential as people and apply the habits and values they develop as a member of our program in their lives after college.

Prior to BW, Mars started the men’s volleyball program at Hiram College, with inaugural season in 2018, where he coached AMCC Newcomer of the Year and First Team All-Conference Selection in 2018. They won 13 matches over two seasons. He also served as the Head Women’s Coach at Hiram in 2018. He also spent two years as a graduate assistant for Elmira College’s Men’s Volleyball Team (’15, ’16 seasons), where he led the program to consecutive 20-win seasons and AVCA top 15 rankings.

Mars grew up in Rochester, NY and was a standout player at Gates Chili High School and Pace Bootlegger Volleyball Club. He attended Penn State University in 2013, earning a degree in telecommunications. He went on to get a master’s degree in management from Elmira in 2016. He resides in Brunswick, Ohio, with his wife Kerrie.
