Soccer Coach
From 2002-2017, Ayers directed both the men’s and women’s soccer teams prior to working exclusively with the men’s program. He holds school records for career and seasonal wins for both programs. The team has been regionally ranked 14 of Ayers 19 seasons and achieved its program’s best national ranking of No. 7, as well as lead the team to its first ever NCAA Division III National Tournament appearance.
At BW, Ayers has produced a United Soccer Coaches All-American, 17 Yellow Jackets recognized as All-Region honorees by the United Soccer Coaches (NSCAA), 8 OAC Positional Players of the year, and 8 BW Academic All-Americans.
In 2017, he received the Ohio’s Director of Coaching Award recognizing “exceptional contributions to the growth and development of the game and who serve to inspire us by example.”
In his own athletic career, Ayers was a three-time All-Presidents Conference performer, in addition to being named the team’s Most Valuable Player as a senior while serving as team captain his junior and senior year.
A Cleveland native from Bay Village, Ayers currently resides in Canton, with his wife Lisa.
