Lauren Hodgson

Dalcroze Instructor

Lauren Hodgson is a vibrant pianist and educator who brings music to life through Dalcroze Eurhythmics, an innovative approach to learning music through movement. With a deep passion for creating joyful, holistic, and hands-on music experiences, Lauren has inspired students of all ages teaching aural skills and eurhythmics courses at Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music and Dalcroze classes for children across the Cleveland area. She also leads professional development classes for teachers at the Dalcroze School of Music and Movement in Dallas, Texas, and conducts workshops on developing musicianship through creative and playful classroom environments, resonating with educators and musicians internationally. She also brings her dynamic leadership as the President of the Ohio Chapter of the Dalcroze Society of America.

In addition to her work as an educator, Lauren has contributed articles to Dalcroze Connections and co-authored a study published in Early Childhood Education Journal. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in Music Education at Case Western Reserve University, where her research focuses on the development of executive functioning skills through embodiment, multisensory integration, improvisation, and play-based experiential learning.
