Jennifer Kadlowec

Chair, Engineering Department; Professor of Engineering

Dr. Jennifer Kadlowec’s primary teaching interests are in mechanics, materials and design, and her scholarly interests include the experimental study and modeling of the mechanical behavior of materials such as elastomeric (rubberlike) materials and biotissues, orthopaedic biomechanics, and research on assessment and student learning in engineering education and design.

Prior to joining BW, she spent 20 years at Rowan University, where she was one of eight founding faculty. She started as assistant professor of mechanical engineering, and held various positions there including department head, a joint appointment in biomedical engineering, and affiliate faculty at Cooper University Hospital Department of Orthopaedics. She has prior research and industry experience at NASA Glenn Research Center; Erico, Inc. (now nvent); and BFGoodrich Landing Gear. She is currently a member of the American Society for Engineering Education and American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Kadlowec is a native of Northeast Ohio and an alumna of Baldwin Wallace. She is a passionate educator and scholar who values collaboration with students, staff and faculty and enjoys helping students and peers succeed.
